Emergency Accessories

These were developed to keep vehicles safe in mining sites but can be used effectively when traversing sand dunes in a desert or beach environment or even in scrub country. By fitting the flag high up on your vehicle it can be seen over ridges and small dunes so you are aware there is another vehicle nearby. Its main purpose is collision avoidance especially if you are powering up a steep dune and can't see over it. If you break down they can help others find you more easily. Lighting them up with LED's when driving at night is also a good idea.

These are items that you should carry at all times and hope you never need to use them. They are lightweight and don't take up a lot of space. They are really handy on narrow bush tracks, if you have broken down or worse, had an altercation with the scenery. Any debate with scenery leaves your vehicle in a worse state than before.

Deploying the triangles at the front and back of the vehicle helps fellow enthusiasts realise there is an incident up ahead and to slow down. Don't put them too close to your vehicle and make sure they are easily visible to approaching vehicles. If there is a blind corner or hill place them on the road leading up to them. The last thing you need is being hit by another vehicle while repairing your own.

Emergency tools are another of those nice to have items that you hope you never use. Ideally these should be located in the cabin near the driver or between the driver and front passenger seat and easily reachable. Having it in a drawer in the back of the truck will not help you if it is your vehicle that crashed. The 2 most important items on it are a hammer for breaking vehicle window glass and a seat belt cutter. If you are trapped either of these items can be very handy.

If you are first on an accident scene you can use it to help out the 'other' guy. Most people think it can't happen to them but why take the risk when the product itself is relatively inexpensive. A fire extinguisher is another one of these items.
