Car Clips and Fasteners from Rare Spares

When working on a classic car getting or finding the correct clips and fasteners is one of the biggest issues. This is especially true when you buy a 'project' which is in a 100 pieces and I guarantee there are always parts missing. What is worse is when the inexperienced 'restorer' pulled it apart and put all the fasteners in one bucket so they couldn't 'lose' them. It quickly turns from a project to an air crash investigation as you lie pieces out on the garage floor and try and work out where they go.

Rare Spares make some of this work easy as they have put together complete fastener kits that contain all the correct hardware to assemble a piece of the jigsaw puzzle. for you. They also have universal fasteners that go across all makes and models. Things like cushion clamps for pipework. Without these you can still achieve what you need to do, it would just be more time consuming.

Clips

Starting with automotive clips like panel clips, christmas tree clips, door trim clips and exterior moulding clips just to name a few. When you think about a car there are hundreds of car part clips required. Most clips these days are plastic though with classic's you do find metal ones, especially any sort of spring clip. The best investment you can make is a set of trim removal tools, which make removing them so much easier. Screwdrivers tend to damage them or the surrounding panel.

Fasteners

This describes just about everything else that is not a clip. Things like nuts, bolts, screws, washers, lock washers, hollow nuts, rivets and spring washers to get the party started. They are bare metal, painted black, chromed, stainless steel, zinc or nickel plated. They come in a vast range of lengths, sizes and styles. Just like clips there are a lot of them in a car and they hold together most mechanical components.

Miscellaneous

A great catch all this part. Stuff that you need but doesn't fit in the other categories. Things like correct wiring cable ties, brass repair bushes for door hinges and tonneau cover hooks for a ute. All important unique restoration products.

Rare Spares Clips and Fasteners section covers the Holden, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, Nissan, Toyota and has some components that are universal. If your classic has a mix of factory - non factory fasteners or some are just plain missing, then they will have the parts to sort it out for you. Repco has a great range of clips and fasteners from Rare Spares and these products can be used in mechanical restoration, interior restoration and exterior restoration.
