Sound Deadening & Insulation

Car Builders product is not something you see. It is hidden under carpet, in roofs, inside doors, body cavities and even under the bonnet. Things like sound deadener, car sound insulation, underlay and heat shield products you can use to screen noise and heat from getting into the cabin. They also do fleece tapes for wiring looms and a range of tools.

Door Trim Waterproof Sheets

When you need to work inside a door cavity, you need to remove the door trim. Behind this trim, manufactures put a plastic waterproof sheet designed to stop moisture getting on the back of the door trim. It is usually held in place by a strip of butyl rubber around the inner door frame. This has a bad habit of ripping when you try and get it off.

Car Builders make a 4 door and 2 door kit that allows you to replace the old factory product with a new heavy duty plastic sheet and waterproof sealant tape. You trim the plastic sheet to the shape you require.

Car Builders Sound Deadening Kit

These are not made from bitumen sound deadening materials, they use a Butyl dampening mat instead to put over sheet metal. It has an aluminium top layer and covers 1.8 square metres. It is 2 to 2.2mm thick. If has a self-adhesive back and can be used on cabin floors, boot floor and walls and on doors. There is foil adhesive tapes available to cover joins in the sound deadener. Colours are plain black, labelled black and labelled silver.

Underlay Waterproof and Acoustic

For undercarpet piece of mind. One is waterproof, 10mm thick and has a self adhesive backing and the other is eggshell like to help reduce noise, 13mm thick and water resistant. Both offer thermal insulation.
