Using the hard wiring kit frees up the 12v socket in your car so you can charge your phone, tablet or power a fridge while your dash cam runs seamlessly from its own hard-wired power source. The cable features a blue LED indicator to visually display when power is available and when a dash cam is connected. If the dashboard camera is connected to a constant live circuit, the inbuilt voltage limiter will protect the battery from going flat and stop the dash cam from drawing power if the battery get close to the point where it may not be able to start the vehicle.
