Repco and Shell V-Power join forces in the Supercars series.
Repco has an impressive and extensive history in motorsport and engine manufacturing. So, it was opportune that on Wednesday 12 September, 2018, Repco signalled a re-entry into motorsport with the announcement of a new partnership with the Shell V-Power Racing Team in the Virgin Australia Supercars Series.
Repco’s return to motorsport was long overdue and has been welcomed by motorsport enthusiasts across Australia and New Zealand. Supercars is a premier racing series in Australasia, boasting strong TV audiences and an extensive and diverse fan base.
The Shell V-Power Racing Team and Repco arrangement is part of a multi-year sponsorship that sees Repco partner with the race team and integrate into a range of activities and assets including race activation, uniforms, merchandise and vehicle livery for cars 12 and 17, driven by Fabian Coulthard and Scott McLaughlin, respectively.
Repco’s motorsport involvement dates back to 1947 but is most famous for its involvement with the legendary, Sir Jack Brabham – a partnership that crowned Jack with the 1966 Formula 1 World Championship in his very own Repco V8-powered Brabham BT19. It is delightful and fitting that many years later, Repco is back into motorsport – and we can’t wait.
