What is Soldering
Soldering, is a process in which two or more items (usually metal) are joined together by melting and putting a metal filler into the joint, the solder metal having a lower melting point than the adjoining metal. Soldering differs from welding in that soldering does not involve melting the work pieces. In years gone, a lot of solder that was made contained lead, now days people are more aware due to environmental and health concerns, it has dictated that all solder is now lead free.
Soldering IronSoldering involves a material called solder that melts when placed on a hot object, the melted solder cools and forms a bond between two items. Your most basic soldering tool is a soldering iron and combined with a soldering station allows you to get the job done in a safe manner.
A blowtorch is a fuel-burning tool used for applying flame and heat to various applications, usually metalworking. Early blowtorches used liquid fuel, carried in a refillable reservoir attached to the lamp. Modern blowtorches are mostly gas-fuelled. Their fuel reservoir is disposable or refillable by exchange.
