What Makes a Good Air Filter?

A car air filter cleans the air before it enters the engine, filtering out dirt, dust, grit, leaves and other contaminants that can damage your engines combustion chamber. An air filter is at its most efficient when it's clean. Once the air filter gets too clogged up it starts to take a toll on your engines efficiency, you can start to use more fuel and with using more fuel you can end up generating more carbon covering your spark plugs and oxygen sensors which again hits your wallet with parts not lasting or using more fuel to produce enough power to keep your car running.

An air filter should flow well, stop grit getting into your engine and last long. We recommend replacing your air filter every 20,000kms. If you drive on dusty roads regularly then you should look to replace your air filter at every oil service. It’s one of the easiest jobs you can do to maintain your car and improve performance and life of your engine.
