Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

An engine mount secures the engine to the vehicle's chassis. It plays a crucial role in absorbing vibrations and noise produced by the engine, providing a smoother and quieter ride. Engine mounts also help maintain the alignment of the engine and transmission, preventing excessive movement that could lead to damage.

Signs of bad oil seals include oil leaks under the vehicle, unusual noises from the engine or transmission, and a noticeable drop in oil levels. You might also notice oil contamination in areas where it shouldn't be, such as on the engine block or other components. If you suspect an oil seal issue, it's important to have it inspected and replaced promptly to avoid further damage.

No, the drivetrain and the transmission are not the same, although they are related. The transmission is a component of the drivetrain. The drivetrain encompasses all the parts that deliver power from the engine to the wheels, including the transmission, driveshafts, differentials, and axles. Essentially, the drivetrain is the system that transfers power to move the vehicle.

Hydraulics in a clutch system refer to the components that use hydraulic fluid to transfer force from the clutch pedal to the clutch mechanism. This system typically includes the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder. When you press the clutch pedal, hydraulic fluid is pushed through the system, engaging or disengaging the clutch smoothly and efficiently.

A steering bush, or bushing, is a component within the steering system that provides cushioning and reduces friction between moving parts. It helps absorb shocks and vibrations from the road, contributing to a smoother steering experience. Steering bushes also aid in maintaining alignment and stability within the steering mechanism.

If your car suspension is broken, you may experience a rough and uncomfortable ride, as the suspension is responsible for absorbing road shocks and maintaining vehicle stability. A broken suspension can lead to poor handling, increased stopping distances, and uneven tyre wear. It can also cause further damage to other vehicle components. It's important to address suspension issues promptly to ensure safety and maintain vehicle performance.
