Air Induction Hose Clamps
Air intake hose clamps perform the vital role of clamping and sealing intake hoses or pipes to stop the air leaking from them. As with any vehicle intake system, outside air is passed through a filter. This filtered air then passes through pipes, hoses and other components until it reaches the combustion chamber in the cylinder head. Either before or in this chamber it is mixed with fuel and then ignited.
The clamp needs to make sure no outside air sneaks in and contaminates the filtered air in a vacuum. In a turbocharged or supercharged system as it is pressurised, the clamp needs to make sure no filtered air is leaking out. The hose clamps on these engines need to be strong and are usually made from stainless steel.
