The Repco RST239 Brake Fluid tester quickly identifies the percentage of water in brake fluid, letting you know the condition of your brake fluid and prompting to change your brake fluid if it's been compromised by water. This is a great tool for looking after the variety of cars in your garage, keep it in the tool box along with all your other specialty automotive tools. Water accumulates in brake fluid over time due to being hydroscopic. The problem with water in the brake fluid is it brings down the boiling point. Bringing the boiling point down results in drastically reduced braking performance after every stop. Just 3 percent of water in your brake fluid can bring the boiling point down 100 degrees. Not only is water bad for brake performance, but it also begins to corrode your braking components internally, and if not maintained correctly can cause you to replace your master cylinder, brake lines and rebuild your calipers. The RST239 Repco Brake Fluid Tester is suitable for DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT5.1 brake fluid. The Colour coded LEDs show the level of water in the brake fluid.

Simple, easy to read LEDs

• Red LED change brake fluid immediately.
• Yellow LED low percentage of water. Check again within 6 months.
• Green LED brake fluid does not contain any water.
• Dual Blue LEDs: DOT 5.1
• Top Blue LED: DOT 4
• Lower Blue LED: DOT 3

How to use - Remove cap from tester. Switch on by pressing the power button at the top of the unit. The LED's will illuminate. Insert the probe fully into the brake fluid. The result will appear on the LEDs within 1 second. Press and hold the power button for approximately 1 second to toggle between brake fluid types. The tester will automatically shut off after 20 seconds of no use. Do not expose brake fluid to air. Close the brake fluid cap immediately after testing.
